A wild and cray illustrator and a philosophically minded autor - or is it the other way around? On the surface, the 2005 winners Ryôji Arai and Philip Pullman could not be more different.
But during their shared Award Week, audiences got a closer look at their work and visions: and might have found some similarities after all.
A painters work-shop, a thought-provoking lecture - and an unforgettable song were some of the weeks ingredients. During the open-air Award Ceremony, Ryôji Arai got out his guitar and did his acceptance speech in the form of a serenade to the memory of Astrid Lindgren. It was a smash hit - both with the crowd, and H.R.H. Crown Princess Victoria.
