Elina Druker is a researcher with considerable experience in children's and young adult literature, with special emphasis on picture books. In her dissertation Images of modernism. The modern picture book in the Nordic countries (2008), she examines modernism in picture books during the 1940s - and 1950s. She teaches and lectures in literature, children's literature and intermediality, and has published numerous scientific articles.
Elina Druker also has assignments as critic in the Swedish newspaper Svenska Dagbladet and was the editor of Barnlitteraturanalyser (Studentlitteratur, 2008) and I litteraturens underland (Makadam, 2011). Today, she is a member of the Editorial Board of the upcoming Swedish children's literature history, a collaborative project between Stockholm University and Swedish children's institute.
Furthermore, she is part of an international network of picture book researchers, and a former board member of the Northern Research Institute-funded research network NorChilnet 2003-2006.
