Will it be an author, illustrator, storyteller or reading promoter? For the 2024 award, 245 candidates from 68 countries and regions have been nominated. The new laureate will be announced on April 9 in a live program from Stockholm and at the Bologna Children's Book Fair.

Speech by Swedish Minister for Culture Parisa Liljestrand followed by the announcement of the 2024 laureate. A presentation of the laureate will follow by the jury. The event will be hosted by Nioosha Shams.

Welcome by Kajsa Ravin, Director General of the Swedish Arts Council, and speech by Jan Björklund, Ambassador of Sweden to Italy, before the live broadcast of the announcement in Stockholm. A presentation of the laureate will follow by jury chair Boel Westin.
